Digital: the new frontier in healthcare

Everything is affected by the digital revolution. The opportunities for improving healthcare could be extraordinary. Interdisciplinary research is key to this. The UCL Festival for Digital Health will connect UCL’s world-class research in computer science, engineering, medicine and health service delivery. Together they can have a direct impact on the health and wellbeing of individuals, communities and populations. Collaborations across engineering and healthcare will make UCL a leading institution for Digital Health research. Join us to discover new technologies, Share achievements, Network with staff, industry and healthcare and Create new collaborations – a new momentum!

Putting People at the Centre of Digital Health

30th June 2014, 4:30pm – 8:30pm

People are at the centre of healthcare. This event will comprise short of presentations and interactive demonstrations of work at UCL that is putting the patient at the heart of Digital Health solutions. These will include technologies for understanding healthcare, managing chronic pain, supporting well-being and promoting health behaviour change. The evening will close with an interactive talk introducing “Human Factors in Healthcare: Human Factors 101″ for those involved in designing, implementing, procuring and deploying Digital Health solutions. And of course, an opportunity to network.

We aim to discuss and exhibit our work on understanding healthcare and human error, on sensing motion/emotion in healthy and chronic pain populations and on feedback to increase motivation, to promote behaviour change and to provoke changes in body perception.

Please note that there are now 3 sessions for which you can register. Sessions 1 and 2 are the same, and follow the format:

- Introductory talks from UCLIC on work by Nadia Berthouze and Amanda Williams, and Jo Iacovides and Rosie Webster.
- Exhibitions and posters: We will have posters showing our latest research, and exhibit/demonstrate work on various fields of digital health.

Our last session, session 3, takes places at 19:00. It will be a talk by Ann Blanford on “Human Factors 101″, introducing industry to human factors and making links with UCLIC research and design process. It will be followed by networking over drinks and nibbles. Please register for this separately if you would like to come!
