Amanda C de C Williams is an academic psychologist, trained clinically and working mainly in psychological management of chronic noncancer pain, alongside medical and physiotherapy colleagues. Her work with UCLIC is on expression of pain and its interpretation by clinicians, and in the use of responsive technology to extend support for self-management of chronic pain outside healthcare settings. She has written over 120 papers and chapters on aspects of pain and psychology, presents at national and international pain meetings, and is on the editorial boards of several major pain journals.
