Ciro Cattuto is the Research Director and the Data Science laboratory head of
the ISI Foundation, a 30-year old research institution that tackles
fundamental and applied challenges in complex systems science, network
science and data-intensive mathematical modeling. His passions for
data analytics and sensor hardware came together when he co-founded
the SocioPatterns international collaboration, which is aimed at
developing social network analytics on top of wearable sensor data on
human mobility and proximity. He is especially interested in the
impact of data science on healthcare, epidemiology and public health,
and he is a member of the WHO Collaborating Center on Complexity
Science for Health Systems. Ciro holds a PhD in theoretical Physics
from the University of Perugia, Italy and has carried out
interdisciplinary research at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor,
at the Sapienza University of Rome, and at the Frontier Research
System of the RIKEN Institute in Japan.
