Tao Cheng

Position: Director, SpaceTimeLab
Affiliation: UCL Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering

Tao Cheng is a Professor in GeoInformatics, and the Director of SpaceTimeLab, a multidisciplinary research Centre that develops theories, methods and tools for modelling spatio-temporal complexity in engineering, economics, and society. She has extensive experience of spatio-temporal analytics of big data in crime, transport, health and natural hazards. Her research has been funded by UK Research councils (EPSRC and ESRC), in collaboration with Metropolitan Police, Transport for London, NHS, Arup and U-Blox. She is the Director of MSc in Geographic Information Science, a well-established and highly regarded course for two decades. She is also the Director of MSc in Spatio-Temporal Analytics and Big Data Mining, a newly lunched course in association of UCL Geography and Computer Science.
